The peter rabbit movie released in February of 2018, is a delightful spin-off from the book, The Tale of Peter rabbit originally released in October of 1902. Although the book and the movie host the same characters with some extras in the movie, Such as Thomas Mr. Mc Gregor nephew and Bea, Peters sweet human friend. The story is different in a refreshing way that brings new life to an old well-known tale.
The basics of the story are the same as the book. Peter’s father was killed and put in a pie by the Mc Gregor’s, and Peter still wants to go into Mr. Mc Gregor’s farm despite the danger. The differences make the story feel like a completely different tale though. Peter has lost both his parents in the movie and is now the leader of the household taking care of his three sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail, As well as Peters cousin Benjamin. Peter still has his adventuress spirit and sees it as no danger to enter Mc Gregor’s garden as he feels fit, despite the warning from his family and his human friend Bea. In a turn of events, Peter is caught by Mr. Mc Gregor who dies of a heart attack from the excitement of finally catching peter.
In London Thomas Gets a letter saying that he has inherited his uncles farm, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for him, So Thomas leaves London not knowing the war he will have to face to keep his garden safe from Peter and his family, and they don’t want to lose the garden either. Unknowing to Peter, his determination and drive to try to keep the garden could cost him his home and his friend Bea. Losing what he wants and everything he has because of his stubbornness.
Peter Rabbit Movie Review Conclusions
This adaption of Peter Rabbit was a fun movie to watch, full of comedy for the entire family and a joy for the kids, we recommend this movie if you enjoyed the book and even so if you can pass by simplistic comedic scenes that seem to cater around kids and their enjoyment.
